New Fraud Cases

Someone shares the following cases...

(1) Today I passed by a building which has an ATM machine. There was an old man looking at me. suddenly called me. He said he didn't know how to read, so he gave me his ATM card and asked me to help him withdraw money from the ATM machine. I answered 'NO! If you need help, ask the security to help you.' Then he said 'nevermind..' and continued to find other people to help him..
REMEMBER: ATM machines have CCTVs. If you help him he will later claim that you have robbed him or stolen his ATM card. Besides, his ATM card could be a stolen one. So please be careful of these frauds.

(2) Suddenly your house lights go off. From your window you find that your neighbours still have lights. So you go out of your house to check the Meter Box. But once you open the door, a knife will be pointing at you and preventing you from closing it. This is when you will be robbed and injured robbed and injured.
REMEMBER : Even though your electricity suddenly goes off, DO NOT open your door immediately. Look around to see if there is anything unusual or if there is any noise around.

(3) This is another incident. You may have heard it before, It is about a lady who she saw a kid crying by the roadside When she spoke to the kid, the kid told her he was lost and wanted her to take him home. The kid even gave her a paper with his house address. So she took him home. But when she rang the door bell she had an electric shock. Later when she woke up, she was naked in an empty room.
REMEMBER: Being such a compassionate and helpful person might not be a good thing these days. Pass this on and girls, please be careful.. DON'T BE TOO KIND!

(4) One day, there was an old lady outside my house holding 2 packets of sweets. At first I thought she was our neighbour and wanted to give us these packs of sweets as a gift. But then when she spoke, I soon realised that she was a foreigner. I could not understand what she was talking about. I guessed she must be asking for money. I sensed there was something wrong and immediately closed the door and ignored her. Later, I found she and an accomplice robbed someone else down the road.

(5) I was at the ATM machine to withdraw some money. Behind me, there was an old lady. She asked me whether I was able to withdraw my money because she said she had problem with her machine. Suddenly a small girl came up beside me. The small girl was squeezing infront of me. I thought she was just naughty and playful. But then, the small girl put her hand at the hole of my ATM machine where the money came out, ready to take away my money. I sensed something wrong and immediately pushed her away. Later I realised that the small girl and the old lady worked together. She was trying to steal my money while the old lady was trying to distract my attention by asking me questions!
REMEMBER: BE VERY CAREFUL when you are at an ATM machine and be alert. Look out for anyone suspicious around you.

(6) My parents are retired and stay at home most days. One afternoon, a young stranger went to their house and said his motorcycle had no more petrol and the petrol station was too far for him to push his bike there. So he asked my parents for an empty coke bottle to buy some petrol. He said he will pay RM2 for the bottle. So my mum took one coke bottle for him. He really took out the money from his pocket, but it was a RM100 note. He told my mum he had no small change and asked my mum to give him the change. Luckily my mum was smart. She just told him to take it for free.
REMEMBER: Obviously that note is fake! Who would want to pay for RM2 for an empty coke bottle!! It's very OBVIOUS that that stranger is a trickster.

(7) This happened in Bali. A newly married couple were having their honeymoon at the hotel. When both are in the changing room, the wife suddenly went missing. The husband was very anxious and went around to find her. He asked the hotel staff to help him find her. Then he thought his wife was just playing hide and seek. So he went back and waited for his wife. After a few hours, he decided to call the police. 3 weeks passed and there was still no news about his missing wife. So he went backand was very dissapointed and sad. A few years later, he came back to Bali, to watch a 'FREAK SHOW' in an old house. He saw a dirty andrusty metal cage. Inside there was a lady without limbs Her body including the face was full of scars. When he had a closer look at her face, he was shocked to findthat it was her missing wife put there as a means for begging.

(8) This happened in Shanghai. A few years ago, a lady reported to the police that her cousin sister was missing in the shopping complex. But after 5 years, one of her friends found her cousin sister begging at the road side one of the streets in Bangkok, Thailand . The worst thing is that her cousin sister has no more limbs and her body was tied toa lamp post with a shackle (metal chain).

(9) Let's just shorten this story. DO NOT open your house door when you hear the sound of a BABY CRYING!! It might be a trap! Women in the house must be alert to this trick. The police said it is the work of a robber or murderer using the recording of a baby crying to attract your attention. This normally happens at night and when you are only alone in the house especially.

(10) I read an email that was sent by my friend. Her friend, known as A, went to Luo Hu Commercial City with 2 friends, B and C. Luo Hu Commercial City is the Shenzhen counterfeit goods distribution center. There are many people there. It's also near to the ShenZhen train station and Hong Kong's Luo Hu Port. C went to the toilet at the shopping centre while A and B waited outside. After waiting for a long, time they felt uneasy and went into the toilet to look for her. When they went in, there was nobody inside there. Both were scared and they called C's phone. There was no one answered. So they reported to the police. The police asked them whether they had seen anyboby suspicious going into the toilet. Both said there were none and its impossible to bring a life person with more out of the toilet without them noticing. Then A remembered seeing a cleaner pushing a trolley in, and then coming out. The police told them that was not the 1st time such a thing happened. The police suspected a gang of criminals who were always attacking women in the the toilet of shopping complexes. They use cleaners to kidnap people to harvest their organs for sale.
REMEMBER: Please be careful when using the toilet. Do not go to the wash room or toilet ALONE! Please at least have a partner with you.

Chicken Hanging with dripping blood @ Singapore

Article below was receive via e-mail, orginally from Stomp.

STOMPer Koh's neighbour hangs the chicken out on a bamboo pole to dry and the STOMPer said that it is so gross because it is dripping with blood.

The STOMPer snapped a picture of the chicken at Block 32 Old Airport Road which was hung out to dry for the fifth time on Sunday (Dec 21).

She sent in an MMS today (Dec 24) and told STOMP:

"I could not believe that my neighbour would hang a chicken out to dry until I saw it for myself. My family told me that it was done several times before.

"The last time my neighbour hung the chicken, it was dripping with blood and it soiled my sister-in-law's clothes.

"How inconsiderate can people get?"

Doctor's Last Word....

A 20-yr old pretty, sexy and sensual girl went to see a psychiatrist..

'Doctor, I'm so angry at my boyfriend that I must call him Bastard.

I feel that he's gone too far, and he deserves it.'

'Hmm? Such a word is strong and rude. But may be you have your own reasons. Tell me about it so that I can help you.'

'Yes, thank you, Doctor. There was one night...we parked our car

besides the beach and we were alone... and... he held my hand....'

'Did he hold your hand like this?'

'Yes, Doctor. Exactly like how you're holding it now'

'If it's only this, he doesn't deserve to be called Bastard. It means

he doesn't want to be separated from you.'

'Then, he leaned his body towards me... and hugged me...'

'Like this?'

'Yes, Doctor. Exactly like how you're doing.'

'It's not a Bastard.

It means he wanna stay forever by your side'

'Then he kissed me...'

'Like this?'

'Yes, Doctor.. Exactly like how you're kissing me..'

'If its only a kiss like this, seriously you can't call him Bastard.

it means he adores you.'

'Then he put his hands inside my clothes and touched my boobs, Doc....'

'Like this?'

'Yes, Doctor... exactly like that'

'It's not behavior of a bastard.. It means he wants to protect you.'

'Then he took off all my clothes... slowly... '

'Did you resist?'

'No. I let him do it, coz I love him....'

'Did he take off your clothes like this?'

'Yes, Doctor. Until I'm completely naked like now.......'

'He still doesn't deserve to be called 'Bastard, because it means he

wanna learn about your body completely.'

'Then he kissed me and put his.... inside me and had sex with me...'

........................

'Did he do it just like what we do?'

'Yes, Doctor. Exactly the same'

'You still can't call him Bastard. It means he needs you.'

'But then he told me that he has AIDS'

All the staff and patients outside heard the doctor screaming,'

BASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRD!'

Boy jumped over CCA

15-year-old wanted a switch but parents tried to dissuade him
By Elena Chong

A 15-YEAR-OLD jumped from the 11th-floor bedroom window of his home - in front of his mother - after a disagreement with his parents over his intention to switch his co-curricular activity (CCA) in school.

Tan Wen Yi had wanted to switch from track-and-field to drama but his parents were against it. Up till then, no one would have thought Wen Yi as a troubled or even self-destructive sort. The Secondary 3 student of Anglo-Chinese School(Independent) was described as cheerful and was well-liked by his classmates and respectful towards his teachers, the Coroner's Court heard yesterday.

A police investigation report presented in court said that on Feb 13 this year, Wen Yi skipped track-and-field training to play football. He was caught by his track teacher and questioned.

He later complained to his classmate that he had been dealt track training sessions four times a week as punishment; he also said he was going to die, but his classmate assumed he was joking.

On their way home in the same bus, Wen Yi was cracking jokes and did not appear depressed.

Staff Sergeant Raymond Chng of the Tanglin Police Division said in his investigation report that Wen Yi's mother received a call from the track teacher that afternoon about her son's ditching his training for football. The teacher, Mr Ng Yeong Joo, 38, who had been told that Wen Yi wanted to switch to drama, told the teen's mother to advise him against it.

That evening, in a talk with his parents in their Stevens Road condo home over the matter, Wen Yi said he had lost his inspiration to run and insisted on the switch.

His parents tried to talk him out of it, but he refused to listen.

He then announced that he had planned to make the switch the following month, 'but I am going to do it now'. He headed for his bedroom, followed by his mother, who sensed something amiss. Before her eyes, he walked up to the window, opened the blinds, climbed onto the ledge, pushed the window open and jumped out. She rushed forward but was too late.

Staff Sgt Chng said that a day before, Wen Yi had sent a classmate a text message in which he said he was going to commit a crime - jump off a building as a 'final feat of rebellion' and let his craziness be known to the world. 'Will you as a friend accompany me on this day?' he had asked.

When he took up track-and- field in 2006, his attendance was irregular, but he blossomed into a medal-winner last year .....

===============================================

I don't think that the school can be blamed for the suicide itself. Based on what the Straits Times reported, none of the teachers would have seen it coming at all. On the other hand, I wonder whether there is something fundamentally wrong with the way schools run their CCA programmes (or perhaps it's just ACS).

Should a student be punished for missing his CCA? And shouldn't a student be permitted to freely drop a CCA, if he no longer enjoys it?

It's just a CCA, for goodness sakes. Why coerce students into CCAs that they don't want to do? I thought the whole idea of CCAs was to allow students to pursue their interests.

Maybe Wen Yi's problem was that he had "blossomed into a medal winner" last year. Perhaps after that, the school just wouldn't let him leave the track-&-field team. Perhaps Wen Yi's sporting ability was viewed as important for helping the school to win some stupid MOE award for "Best in Sports" or something.

Here's the irony. Top schools often coerce their less-able students into dropping their weakest subjects, even if the student actually wants to carry on with the subject. The school's fear is that the student might score a B or C, thereby dragging down the school's overall percentage of A's.

So that's Singapore, for you. Schools will force you to quit studying what you DO want to study ... and force you to do the CCAs that you DON'T want to do.

Words used does make a different

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet.
He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.'
There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocke and dropped them into the hat.
He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words.
He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up.
A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy.
That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were.
The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning?
What did you write?'

The man  said, 'I only wrote the truth.

I said what you said but in a different way.'

What he had written was:  'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.'

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind.
But the first sign simply said the boy was blind.
The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind.
Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral  of the Story:
Be thankful for what you have.
Be creative.
Be innovative.
Think differently and act positively.

Invite others towards good with wisdom.
Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets.
When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that
you have 1000 reasons  to smile.
Face your past without regret.
Handle your present with confidence.
Prepare for the future without  fear.
Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great  men say, 'Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction,
of discarding evil and developing goodness.
In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear,
you must have the ticket of a good conscience.'

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling
And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

A ghost story to share

read the story no matter u like or dun like ghost story...makes you glued to your chair till the last sentence!

Prior to joining a new company, this guy A was working at boat quay area.

In those tall building offices like UOB and such. His office was quite high up the level at least 30 and above. Normally he will have to stay back for OT and in the evening, all the lifts will be stopped due to security reasons. Whenever he wanted to leave, he will need to call the old security uncle to activate the lift from ground floor to his level.

Then the uncle will send the lift up..

After sometime, he left the company and joined another place where his office also very high up in the building. Hence if do OT, also need to call uncle to send lift up. Then it came the day that he's working OT for the first time at the new place. He stayed back till 12 plus am and When he's about to leave, he called the security uncle to send the lift up. After packing up he went to the lobby to wait for the lift.

He waited and waited. 10 mins passed, Lift not up. He waited for another 10 mins and call the security uncle. S denotes security here.

A: Hello Uncle ah, have you send the lift up?
S: Yeah sent liao.
A: No leh I been waiting for 20 mins liao leh
S: No meh? okie okie I send again.

Another 5 minutes went by. No lift came up. The guy got worried. He's the last person to leave and there's no one around. He called the uncle on his handphone again.

A: Er... Uncle ah, you sure you sent the lift up?
S: Yeah I sent it up twice liao leh.
A: But I saw the lifts all on the first floor leh!
S: Aiyoh. Nevermind. I take the lift up and look for you.

Again, A waited. 5 minutes passed but none of the lift are moving. Then suddenly, his hp ring. The uncle voice was on the other side of the line sounding very weird.

S: Where are you? I am here. But I cannot find you.

All this while A was staring at the display of the lifts. All at level 1..... and the uncle is here.... shit something is not right.

A straight away chiong to the stairs and dashed down the building...

When he reached ground level, he chiong to the security counter and he found out that....

.....

......

.....

He had actually called the old security uncle in the building of his ex-company and not the security uncle of his new office -_- He work till seh liao and was damn blur. Feeling very pai seh, he also never call back to explain to the security uncle from the building of his ex-company.

Blur cock and poor uncle. He must be the one who actually freaked out going all the way up and saw no one there hahaha

Web or sex? Nearly half of women would rather go online

Interesting news shared by Nikita, hope you all enjoy. Not sure what they guys will think reading this XD

WASHINGTON (AFP) - - Nearly one out of two women would rather give up sex for two weeks than go without the Internet, according to a survey released Monday.

Far fewer men would choose to go without sex, according to the survey of 2,119 adults carried out by the online research firm Harris Interactive and sponsored by Intel Corp., the world's biggest computer chip maker.

Forty-six percent of the women polled said they would rather go without sex for two weeks than give up access to the Internet for the same period of time, according to the survey, "Internet Reliance in Today's Economy."

Only 30 percent of men said they would rather forgo intimate relations than cyber ones.

Ninety-five percent of those surveyed said it is "very important, important or somewhat important" to be able to access the Internet.

Sixty-five percent of those surveyed rated Internet access above other discretionary spending items such as cable television subscriptions (39 percent), dining out (20 percent), shopping for clothes (18 percent) or a health club membership (10 percent).

Sixty-one percent of the women surveyed said they would rather give up watching television for two weeks than give up access to the Internet for one week.

Harris Interactive and Intel said the survey was conducted November 18-20. They did not provide a margin of error for the results.

Malaysia burglar stuck for 3 days in haunted house

Found out this news from Joshua in plurk. Thanks for the joke but I still don't think it's funny :p

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - A news report says a burglar who broke into a house claims he was held captive by a "supernatural figure" for three days without food and water.

Police official Abdul Marlik Hakim Johar told The Star newspaper the house's owners found the 36-year-old man fatigued and dehydrated when they returned from vacation Thursday.

He says they called an ambulance to take him to a hospital.

The man told police that every time he tried to escape, a "supernatural figure" shoved him to the ground.

Abdul Marlik could not immediately be reached and other police officials declined to comment.

Beware of Push Pockets

An interesting e-mail, share to everyone specially those in KL and interested to travel over there...

Push pocket in KL
I am sure you all have heard of "pick pocket".   A new trend "push pocket".
Read on... for your own good

A few days ago a new type of crime has surfaced in town. It goes something like this:- Somebody slips a hand-phone into your pocket, sometimes it could be just a wallet with an identity card and a few ringgit.

A few minutes later, the 'owner' comes up and confronts you, the 'thief '. He makes a big commotion that you stole his stuff.

You, caught unaware, are then pulled aside by the 'owner' for a settlement you are intimidated and threatened that if you do not pay up the police will be brought in. If you pay up, this 'owner' lets you go. If not, the police are brought in.

Another strange thing is that there always seems to be a 'witness' to the your 'theft'.

I am told this often happens to foreigners at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or even at LRT trains. Given that you're 'guilty until proven innocent' as far as the Malaysian police are concerned, I understand some poor people are in jail for these 'offences'.

At the KLIA, the 'owner' throws his hand-phone and wallet with the few ringgit notes into the luggage trolley of a just arrived passenger. The drama unfolds a few minutes later. The real culprit has
easily convinced our Malaysian police to arrest the real victim (if he has not paid up the 'settlement' demand). This is a very serious matter.

This is another form of extortionists operating in broad daylight. They are disgusting criminals who will do anything to rob and steal. The sickening part of the whole scenario is that unless you pay the "quoted settlement" money, they will put you in real trouble by calling the police..

The real culprit gets back his hand-phone and wallet but the real victim ( i.e. could be any one of us) is thrown into the police lock up and charged in court.

So do be very careful, otherwise you may end up as a "thief" as you have no way to prove your innocence.

Pass it on..... let more people be aware of such things around them.

No Sex Tonight

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

FOR EXAMPLE:-
One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says "I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me." I said "WHAT??!! What was that?!"

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to
hear...

"You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man." She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?"

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep. The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said lets get a pair for each outfit. We went onto the jewelry department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you...she was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis. I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey."

She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation she finally said, "I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier."

I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't feel like it." Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled WHAT?"

I then said "honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman." And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, "Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?"

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either.

Sony says to cut 8,000 jobs, shut plants

TOKYO (AFP) - - Japan's Sony Corp. said Tuesday that it was cutting 8,000 jobs worldwide and shutting some plants as part of an overhaul of its business to cope with the global economic downturn.

The electronics giant said it would axe about 10 percent of its manufacturing sites, cut investment in its electronics business by about 30 percent and downsize or withdraw from unprofitable areas.

Sony, seen as a bellwether of corporate Japan, said it would lay off about five percent of its 160,000 workers in its global electronics business. It will also reduce the number of seasonal and temporary workers.

"These initiatives are in response to the sudden and rapid changes in the global economic environment," it said in a statement.

Japan's electronics giants are facing tougher times after enjoying several years of strong profits thanks to brisk sales of flat televisions, digital cameras and mobile telephones.

The company will postpone a planned expansion of a plant in Slovakia that assembles liquid crystal display televisions for the European market.

Sony, which makes Bravia flat televisions, Cyber-shot digicams and PlayStation 3 video game consoles, will also end production at two overseas plants, including one in France, that make tape and other recording media.

It will also realign its network of plants and shift manufacturing to low-cost countries, while raising some product prices to mitigate the impact of the stronger yen.

The group said the measures should enable it to cut costs by more than 100 billion yen (1.1 billion dollars) a year by March 2010.

"In addition to these measures, Sony will continue to implement measures as required to help assure both short and longer-term profitability and growth," the statement said.

Sony said in October its operating profit plunged 90 percent in the second quarter of the financial year, hit by a surging yen, a weak global economy and intense price competition.

The electronics icon has endured a difficult spell in the face of tough competition from rival products such as Apple's iPod and Nintendo's Wii.

Last year it enjoyed a strong recovery under its first foreign boss, Howard Stringer, a Welsh-born US citizen. Under his watch, the group has shed non-core assets and axed thousands of jobs.

Liver Damaging Habits

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.
2.
Not urinating in the morning.
3.
Too much eating.
4.
Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6.
Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring , and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible
reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8.
Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver. Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.

We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to "schedule."

Because :

Evening at 9 - 11
PM : is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1 am :
is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 1 - 3 am :
detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 3 - 5 am : detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am : detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.

Morning 7 - 9 am :
absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30 am , for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30 am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10 am rather than no meal at all.

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals.

Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.

Project Gift a Kid

This Christmas season, help us make a difference in a child’s life.

What is it? “Gift a Kid” is a project by the Rotaract Club of Kuala Lumpur (RACKL), supported by the AllMalaysian Bloggers Project (AMBP). Its aim is to enrich the educational experience of 100 underprivileged children in the Klang Valley.

We hope to achieve this by:

  • We hope to achieve this by:Providing back-to-school material - books, stationery, uniforms etc - for the 2009 school year, to 100 underprivileged kids, aged between six and 15 years.

  • Encouraging leadership and confidence by conducting interactive sessions and educational trips.

  • Allowing kids to be kids by organising “fun” trips. The first of these is a movie outing (possibly on Dec 19), the tickets to which are sponsored by United International Pictures. (See ‘How am I helping by blogging?’ below to know more)

Who benefits? Why, children of course, but to be more specific, children from the following organisations:

  • Rumah WAKE 1: A home for HIV+ children and their affected siblings under the Pertubuhan Wanita dan Kesihatan Kuala Lumpur)

  • Sekolah Rendah Jenis (Tamil) Cheras: Many of the children from this school come from the surrounding low-cost flats and squatter areas. Most of them can’t afford school uniforms, let alone school fees.

What can you, as a member of AMBP do to help? Why, blog about it, of course! But there are plenty of other ways you can help. Here are some suggestions:

  • Don’t only blog about the ‘Gift a Kid’ project, make it your best, most noticeable blog ever! And better still – make it a sticky post so that nobody misses out your blog post.

  • Sponsor a kid, from as little as RM10 to the full pack of RM150. A small step from you goes a long way towards empowering these kids’ futures.

  • Instead of giving a loved one a material gift, sponsor a kid on behalf of them. We’ll give you a gift card which comes nicely packed with an inspirational quote and ribbon that you can pass to them. That way you’re giving two people a gift at once!

  • Inform your friends, family members and colleagues.

  • Ask your friends, family members and colleagues to either sponsor a kid or spread the word. Or you could pool your resources.

How am I helping by blogging? As you already know, the blogosphere is very influential as a source of information, or as a catalyst for change. By blogging about Project Gift a Kid you will:

  • Get the word out. The more people know about this project, the more likely someone would come forward to help.

  • Give the gift of movies to one of the kids. United International Pictures has agreed to sponsor a number of movie tickets; your one blog post will send one of these kids to the movies.

On Dec 19 (tentative date), we will hand over the collected gifts to the children at The Star’s brand new multimedia outlet Studio V at 1 Utama shopping complex, where there will be plenty of fun activities lined up.

As such, apart from helping us get the word out, your one blog post will send one child to the event/movies.

Also, by adding an image (from the movies Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging or Wild Child) below your post on the Gift a Kid project, you may win yourself some goodies, thanks to our sponsors UIP and EMI. Details on the UIP Caption Contest tab above.

How do I go about sponsoring a kid? Here’s what you’ll have to do:

  1. Print out the Sponsorship Form, then fill in your details.

  2. Together with the sponsored sum, return the form(s) to us between Dec 15 and 18, at the following address:

    Star Publications (M) Bhd
    Menara Star
    Phileo Damansara II
    15 Jalan 16/11
    46350, Petaling Jaya

For enquiries, or to get a form (if you can't find a printer), you can get in touch with Michael A. Fredericks (019-2184 307) from the AMBP, or Kavita (016-259 3818), Anu (016-254 6995) or Sumitra (012-246 9109) from the Rotaract Club KL (email: rotaract_kl@yahoo.com.sg).

All payments can be made via cash or cheque written to “ROTARACT CLUB OF KUALA LUMPUR”, and handed to the people listed above.

So what you waiting for, it's time for you to do you part Malaysians~ Merry Christmas!!!

Brain Damaging Habits

1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2. Overeating

It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking

It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption

Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrient causingmalnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution

The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation

Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness

Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts

Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely

Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain

Girl in a relationship

Originally taken from REMINISCENCE

...this entry specially for any (girl) going through a relationship confusion at the moment. You've got to be strong and you need to take care of your own heart..

If a guy wants you, nothing can keep him away.
If he doesnt want you, nothing can make him stay.
Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.. sometimes, you've got to let your intuition save you from heartache. And please dont try to change yourself for a relationship thats not meant to be..

Im not being mean.. but I personally believe that you should never live your life for a guy before you find what makes you truly happy. If a relationship ends because the guy was not treating you the way you deserve to be treated, dont kid yourself by continuing to be friends..

A friend wouldnt and shouldnt mistreat a friend.

If you feel like something's not right or that he might possibly be cheating on you, then he probably is. Dont be so gullible as to hold on thinking "it will get better". You'll only be mad at yourself a year later for holding on to nothing and just getting hurt all these while..

The only person you can control in a relationship is you.

Always have your own set of friends separate from his. Guys ALWAYS stand up for our own so you can never fully trust any one of his friends. Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you, and if something bothers you.. for goodness sake, speak up!

Never let a guy know everything though. If he's a bastard, he'll use it against you later. You cannot change a guy's behavior. You have to understand that to us guys, it really is an ego thing and thats what makes us jerks most of the time. Change comes from within.

Girls, dont ever make him feel more important than you are. You shouldnt feel belittled even if he is smarter, wealthier, more popular. And please have some personal pride, seriously.. dont allow him to put a leash on you (neither should you be so possessive). Your guy is still a guy after all, nothing more and nothing less. A guy will treat you the way you allow him to.. never let him define who you are.

If everything eventually ends.. you need time to heal between relationships. There is nothing cute about baggage.. it makes you look like a desperate slut. Scared of being alone is what makes a lot of girls stay in relationships that are abusive or hurtful. Deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship, and make sure you really ARE over it before you start dating again..

And when the next special someone comes along, be sure you never look at him to complete you. A relationship consists of two whole individuals, so look for someone complimentary.. not supplementary.

You're the best thing that could ever happen to anyone and if a guy mistreats you, that brainless idiot simply doesnt know what he's missing out on. If he was attracted to you in the first place, know that he's not the only one.. just dont be a bitch and go around flirting if you're already attached..

If you find a guy, or if you're already with a guy.. who brings out the best in you, who brings joy into your life, who stands by you through everything and makes you feel special and loved.. then I guess you'll be/are one happy girl.

But when and if you ever start to question yourself about the direction of the relationship when nothing else is wrong, just remember the very first day you fell in love with him. Hold that memory, and fall in love with that special guy of yours again and again..
___

By the way,
I'd like to reemphasize again that I am NOT a male chauvinist.
I really have great respect for girls (well some anyway).

Some might had questions in their mind why on earth did I took down this post? Well, I think it encouraged me to see things differently from a guy's thinking and I hope my friends will be touched but by this Point of View from a well known blogger in Singapore (2K viewers daily).
